Geriatric Care Managers - Who Are They and What Services Can They Offer?
Brought to you by the Caring Workplace

A Geriatric Care Manager (GCM) is an experienced professional who specializes in assisting older adults and their families with appropriate arrangements & also providing community resources pertaining to the older adult.  The care manager provides education, support, advocacy and assists with decision-making for the present needs as well as planning for the future for the older adult & their family.

The benefits in utilizing a Geriatric care manager can save time & money, decrease stress & anxiety, gain peace of mind, and having a trusted professional you can turn to for advice & support.

The services provided may include-  a personalized & comprehensive plan of care, legal & financial resources, in-home agencies, housing resources, & a liaison for long-distance caregivers.

The Caring Workplace offers unlimited GCM and counseling services for the working caregiver.  Your company recognizes the struggle that many individuals face in balancing their work-life and caregiving responsibilities, and has contracted the Caring Workplace to help employees relieve some of this stress.

Keep in mind that this is a FAMILY BENEFIT.  If you are not the primary caregiver we can work directly with your family members, ensuring that the entire family has access to the services we provide.  We are available to meet with you in person, or can work with you through phone calls and email if this is more convenient with your busy schedule.   Information discussed is strictly confidential.

It is difficult to predict when a health crisis may occur and what affect that may have on the entire family.  We are available to you in those difficult times or for proactive planning in regards to future needs.  Keep in mind that support is just a phone call away!

Call Heather O’Brien, ElderCare Specialist with the Caring Workplace, at (314) 802-5106 or toll-free at (888) 388-1930, to discuss your caregiver-related issue on a confidential one-on-one basis.  You can also email her at hobrien@standrews1.com.
